Cat Clothing Trends

The ultimate basic piece of clothing, the T-shirt, has gone through several fashion evolutions. One of the ways that this is done is through cat shirts. No longer just reserved for feline lovers, more and more fashion-forward women are wearing their tees with jeans. They can even be paired with dressier skirts and even couture pieces.

Shirts can be the canvas for either a toned down statement outfit. In order to update the look, go for a shirt that deviates from the usual loose tee. Look for V-neck shirts for a sought-after style. One with a slightly loose silhouette oozes casual chic and feminine appeal. Another variation is to look for cat shirts that have loose necklines to allow for one side to drape over the shoulder.

Do not be constrained with male or female shirts. The ladies can slip on a cat shirt made for a male because the oversize style can be surprisingly sexy and chic. In fact, designers have caught on to this trend and now unisex and boyfriend-style shirts are readily available to women. The look can be interpreted by pairing it with soft and feminine scarf or a sleek, fitted pair of jeans. Depending on the accessories, the outfit can turn from lazy to polished, depending on the mood of the person.

Also, do not be turned off by shirts that have been around for a long time. The destroyed or distressed look is quite popular. Even worn out shirts that have been left at bottom drawers have a second lease at life. New styles and trends have made wearing these shirts acceptable, and more so, stylish. The subtly sheer materials can be quite refreshing and comfortable.

It is also a good idea to experiment with the lengths of the shirt. Ultra-long tees may be worn over leggings or skinny jeans. They may even be layered over shorter tees or cinched at the waist with a belt. The movement provided by the long tees is can be quite eye-catching. In contrast, short or baby tees can be worn with skirts or sailor pants for a classic look.

Finally, even cat shirts have not escaped the need to become more environmentally friendly. Look for shirts that are made out of organic cotton for a natural twist. Some shirts have incorporated recycled fibers or other materials in the shirt as a contribution to both style and the protection of the environment.

Amazing Clothing That Stops Body Odour

Collectively we spend a fortune on personal hygiene products to combat body odor, you can buy products that mask the smell, applications that absorb sweat and even products that stop your natural production of sweat, but did you know that you can now buy clothing that prevails body odour and the main ingredient is bamboo!

Making clothing that prevails odour has been a goal for many top manufacturers for some years now with the aim to manufacture textiles that prevent bacteria from cultivating on the fabric, which produce odor. Clothes with antibacterial treatments are available now but these chemical treatments can cause skin allergies and washing reduces their effectiveness. Clothing made from bamboo fiber however is naturally antibacterial and hypoallergenic so even people with sensitive skin or allergies can wear bamboo and benefit from its natural antibacterial qualities.

A study by the CTITC (China Textile Industry Testing Center) showed that after introducing bacteria to a sample of bamboo fabric a 99.8% reduction in bacteria occurred over a 24-hour period. Another study by The Japan Textile Inspection Association showed that bamboo fabric could eliminate over 70% of introduced bacterium over a 24-hour period even after 50 industrial wash cycles.

How does it work?

Because the fabric is made from pulped bamboo, which contains 'bamboo Kunh' a substance found in all bamboo species that kills bacteria on contact, clothing made from bamboo amazingly retains this same bacteria killing quality. So not only will bamboo fabric kill bacteria on your skin, preventing odor but it will also resist yeast, mold and fungus cultivation. A study of 50 patients suffering from athlete's foot showed that after 2-5 days wearing bamboo socks, all 50 patients symptoms had disappeared.

Uses:

The natural antibacterial properties of bamboo fiber can be used not only for sport and fitness apparel helping to keep you comfortable and fresh but also for many other applications including: hospital gowns, wound dressing, feminine hygiene products, bathroom towels all of which benefit greatly from the natural antibacterial nature of bamboo.

So if you want to stay smelling freshly naturally without the need for deodorants, wear clothing made from bamboo!

Smart Clothing Tips Each Woman Will Appreciate

It's not a secret that women always wish to look attractive and stylish. It does not matter where they go and what they do, they need to feel confident and beautiful. This does not only help them remain in the focus of men's attention, but also makes it easier to reach the goals they have set. The choice of clothes and accessories to be included into the wardrobe of each woman depends upon many factors, such as her body type, style of clothes she prefers, personal traits of character, age, occupation and what not. However, there are effective fashion tips that will ideally work for each lady, who aims at looking appealing, sexy and gorgeous. Some of these smart tips are provided below.

  1. Old Apparel Never Goes Out of Style!

Do you believe that you should get rid of those attires you have worn for two or three years? Do you think that they are not trendy anymore? If so, then you may be mistaken! Many old things do not go out of fashion and remain trendy for years. Just have a look at the apparel you have in your wardrobe! What clothes seem too old-fashioned to be worn every day? Which of them would you eagerly purchase, if you were in a fashion boutique? These simple questions will help you make the right choice!

  1. Choose the Right Outfit for the Black-Tie Event

Have you been invited to visit a black-tie event? Is your best friend or close relative getting married soon and you do not know what to wear? Do not get into despair and take your time to shop wisely! There is no need to buy a luxurious dress for one night only. Instead, give preference to the attire you may put on when visiting holidays and festivals in the future. This will make the purchase both efficient and gorgeous. Do not forget about suitable shoes, accessories and underwear! These things will make you feel confident and beautiful wherever you go, while proper makeup and hairstyle will contribute to your charming appeal!

  1. Know Your Strong Points

The best way to choose clothes that will really work for you is to know your strong points. One and the same apparel may look differently on two women just because they have different body types. It may take some time to experiment with different types of apparel and accessories to make the best choice, but the result will be worth this time and effort. By knowing your strong points, you will be able to opt for clothes that make you look stylish and chic. Likewise, you will avoid clothes that have negative impact upon your appeal and underline your imperfections.

  1. Do not Forget About Jeans!

When thinking about your wardrobe, do not forget about jeans. There are no stylish collections of clothes without this item. You can wear jeans in the everyday life just to feel comfortable. They are a nice choice for a family picnic, a night with your friends, a trip to the forest and even a romantic weekend. Just make sure you choose the right size. If you have any doubts, then give preference to the smaller size, because they will stretch with the lapse of time. By the way, if your jeans look a bit old-fashioned or you just wish to give them a brand new look, then you can decorate them with versatile gems and other accessories you will find any local garment accessories shop. A bit of imagination will help you get nice-looking and fashionable jeans!

  1. Watch Out Deodorant Stains!

It's not a secret that deodorant stains look unappealing and sometimes even disgusting. Furthermore, they are very hard to wash sometimes, which means that they can easily spoil your attire. It does not matter how stylish and expensive your new dress or blouse is – deodorant stains will give it an unattractive look. The same concerns makeup stains. If you have noticed the problem, try to wash the piece of clothing as soon as you can. If washing the stains with water does not help, then add the detergent or stain remover into water, leave it there for several hours and give it another try. This should help get rid of the problem.

  1. Do Not Underestimate the Importance of Scarves and Belts

Accessories always contribute to the way you look. This especially concerns scarves and belts that come in different colors, models, shapes, sizes and materials. You can choose several of them to fit your clothes. When chosen properly, these accessories add style, grace and elegance to your appeal.

  1. Keep Your Clothes in Order

It does not matter how many clothes and accessories you have, you should always keep them in order. Having bought an article of clothing you have been looking for, take your time to read the instructions on the label to know how to take care of it properly. This will not take much time, but will help you maintain the nice look of your apparel for a long time.

Know the Fabrics to Make Smart Outdoor Clothing Choices

Dressing to survive in the outdoors starts with knowing what fabrics to wear. Different fabrics have radically different properties. Choosing the wrong type, or mixing clothing of different materials, can be disastrous!

You may not be able to tell what a garment is made of by looking. A nice, fuzzy, thick 100-percent cotton flannel shirt will be warm and cozy until it gets wet. Then that wet shirt may suck the heat out of your torso and cause hypothermia!

On the other side of the equation is wool. My hands-down favorite in the winter, wool, is generally a bad choice for a desert hike in August. Wool traps heat, and while it provides some UV protection, the material will prevent your body from cooling.

So, the buyer needs to beware.

Before buying any clothing item, read the labels and find out what the material is. Ignore fashion or what’s trendy (I know that’s hard – I have a 14-year-old daughter!), and make your purchase based on the activity and the clothing protection that will be needed.

Here are some common fabric choices:

* Cotton: Depending on where you live, cotton clothing can kill you. Cotton is hydrophilic, meaning it is no good at wicking wetness away from the skin, and can become damp just by being exposed to humidity.

Both of these 100% cotton garments would keep you warm until they got wet. Then, this clothing could become dangerous to wear!

Once wet, cotton feels cold and can lose up to 90 percent of its insulating properties. Wet cotton can wick heat from your body 25 times faster than when it’s dry.

Since I’ve spent a lot of time in the Deep South, my favorite hot weather shirt is a medium-weight, white, 100 percent cotton Navy surplus shirt. The shirt has a collar that can be pulled up to shade my neck, and pockets with flaps and buttons. Cotton also has a reasonable amount of UV protection.

On really hot days in a canoe, a cotton shirt can be soaked with water, and worn to cool you down. On a desert hike, help prevent heat stroke by using a few ounces of water to wet the shirt down. (The water can come from anywhere, including that algae-edged stock tank. The evaporation is what cools you!)

The same properties that make cotton a good choice for hot weather make it a killer in rain, snow and cold.

Typical urban casual garb is probably all cotton: sweat-socks, Hanes or Fruit of the Loom underwear, jeans, tee shirt, flannel shirt and sweatshirt. This outfit may keep you warm in town, but don’t wear it into the back country! Once the cotton gets wet, you could end up in trouble.

Don’t be mislead by the looks and camouflage patterns of 100 percent cotton hunting clothes. These garments my be just what you need for a hot, September dove hunt in Mississippi, but they become cold and clammy when damp or wet, just like anything else made of cotton.

* Polypropylene: This material doesn’t absorb water, so it is a hydrophobic. This makes it a great base layer, since it wicks moisture away from your body. The bad news is that polypropylene melts, so a spark from the campfire may melt holes in your clothing.

* Wool: Where I live in Central Oregon, wool is the standard for six months of the year. A good pair of wool pants and wool socks are the first clothing items we recommend to new Boy Scouts in our troop. For our winter scout excursions, any sort of cotton clothing is strongly discouraged. Jeans are banned.

Wool absorbs moisture, but stays warmer than many other fabrics. Wool is also inherently flame retardant.

* Polyester: This is essentially fabric made from plastic, and it’s good stuff. The material has good insulation and wind-stopping value, and can be made into many different thicknesses.

* Nylon: The fabric is pretty tough and can be used on your outer layer. It doesn’t absorb much moisture, and what does evaporates quickly. It is best used as some sort of windbreaker, to keep your clothing from being compromised by the wind.

* Down: This material is not a fabric, but rather, fluffy feathers stuffed inside a garment or sleeping bag. When dry, down is one of my favorite insulated materials.

But I don’t use a down sleeping bag, and would hesitate wearing a down vest into the back country because of potential moisture problems. When wet, down becomes hydrophilic, and loses virtually all its insulated value. It can be worse than cotton as far as sucking heat away from your body.

In addition, a down sleeping bag or garment is virtually impossible to dry out in the back country, even with a roaring campfire.

How to Organize Your Clothing Merchandise and Display Them Properly

An organized clothing display entices customers to try your apparel merchandise on and helps persuade your customers to actually purchase your products. Planning and choosing the best apparel display fixtures that suit your needs will help vamp up your clothing goods. But in order for you to arrange your clothing well, you must know how to go through steps in making them more appealing.

Properly classify all your apparel. Before displaying your merchandise unto their respective fashion display shelves or fixtures, you must first classify your entire apparel into format, design, color, and then sizes.

Through proper classification, you can assure that your customers won’t have a hard time in browsing through your merchandise. Moreover, with the help of your clothing display stands, your merchandise will look very organized, thus the simple and clean look.

Guarantee proper space planning and management. Space planning and management before doing anything else should be made as a priority. Imagine shoving your apparel racks and wedge them in between cooking supplies and ingredients! It will not just drive away your customers but it will likewise cause deterioration in your merchandise.

Through proper space planning and management, you don’t have to succumb to unnecessary losses and wastage. Moreover, your merchandise will be highlighted through your fashion fixtures because it was planned to be positioned in the most optimum place or section in the retail area.

Ensure proper ventilation of your display space. Lighting doesn’t only improve visual clarity but it also sets the mood and the attitude that you want your apparel to project. A well-lighted clothing display fixture can easily be of help in projecting the look of your brand. For high-end brands a dramatic spotlight directed at your apparel display stand will exude sophistication and drama. For low-end brands, regular indoor lighting can be used.

Moreover, proper air conditioning should also do the trick in ensuring a healthy flow of foot traffic within your display area. It is a scientific fact that temperature levels directly affect the moods of a consumer.

Cleanliness is the key. In any business, ensuring cleanliness and freshness is obviously one of its top, if not the first, priority. Cleanliness should not only be limited to the actual apparel itself but also with the fashion fixture that holds it. Creating clean lines and subtle colorization also helps achieve the needed “clean look”.

Always make it a point to ensure a healthy level of inventory especially on fast moving items. An empty or emptied clothing display rack is not really good to look at aside from the fact that it obviously can incur high opportunity losses.

A clean de-cluttered and organized display space should be a prime concern of all clothing apparel manufacturers. In this manner, all customers have nothing to look at but clean clothing displays.

A Guide to the Three Layers of Snowboard Clothing

One of the main appeals of snowboarding is the fact that you are taking part in an activity in some of the most dramatic beautiful landscapes on earth, but spending time in mountain regions also exposes you to changeable and potentially harmful climates. As a result it is vitally important that before heading out onto the slopes that you have the correct clothing and equipment to keep you warm, protected and extremely capable to enjoy snowboarding for longer. Ideally your snowboarding clothing should keep you warm, be lightweight and keep you dry by wicking sweat away from your skin. The best way to achieve this is to be using the layering method which allows you to react to sudden drops in temperature by adding layers or increases in temperature by taking a layer off. The three layer system is applicable for most winter sports with the base layer trapping warmth and wicking moisture away from your skin, the middle layer, which is usually a clothing or fleece jacket providing additional insulation and the outer layer protecting against the wind and rain. Below is a short guide to what each layer consist of and why it is important in your overall snowboarding equipment.

Base Layer

The base is the layer that is in contact with your skin and is there to trap a layer of air and remove moisture from your skin to keep you both warm and dry. The base layer should cover you from head to toe and as such consist of a long sleeved top, full length leggings and socks made from a moisture wicking material such as polypropylene. Avoid wool combination materials if you have a low itch tolerance and cotton altogether as it loses all its thermal properties if it gets wet.

Base layer check list:

Thermal Body Shirt – Must have long sleeves and will ideally be made of polypropylene to ensure moisture is transferred away from your skin.

Thermal underwear – Again opt for polypropylene as this will not itch and provides great thermal and anti moisture properties.

Snowboarding Socks – There's nothing worse than having cold feet and protecting your extremities in freezing conditions is of vital importance. Good quality snowboarding socks will not only keep your feet warm, dry and comfortable but also improve the fit of your snowboarding boots and protect against impacts. Your socks should come half way up your calf and should not be too thick as this will encourage sweating.

Second or Middle Layer

The job of the second layer is to trap warm air as you ride and transfer moisture further away from your body as your ride, it can also be used as the outer, protective layer on warmer days. Commonly used materials include wool and fleece with fleece being particular popular due to its lightweight properties and breathable properties which draws moisture towards the outer layer of clothing.

Second layer check list:

Jacket or sweater – Made of either wool or preferably fleece, this should be lightweight and breathable allowing moisture to evaporate through the material. It will not even protect against wind or rain.
Snowboarding Pants – Placed over the top of your base layer, snowboarding pants should have a nice, roomy fit and provide additional warmth and moisture protection with padded areas in the knees and backside area for impact protection and to prevent melting snow seeping through to your base Layer.

Snowboarding Boots – Available in regular shoe sizes, snowboarding boots are the link between your snowboard and your feet. As such fit around your feet and ankles is highly important. Take time to try a number of pairs to ensure you get a comfortable and secure fit as a decent pair will last a while.

Outer Layer

The outer layer of your snowboarding equipment is there to protect you from wind, rain and impacts, prevent moisture from entering and allows moisture to escape from the inner layers.

Outer Layer Checklist:

Beanie, Hat or Helmet – Whatever you use make sure it covers your ears and for impact protection opt for a specialist snowboarding helmet.

Snowboarding Goggles – Snowboarding goggles should protect your eyes from wind, snow, rain and UV. Lenses vary in terms of their light transmission capabilities with different lenses available for different light conditions.

Snowboarding goggle lenses should also have a scratch resistant coating, anti fog coating and 100% UV protection. The goggle frame should fit comfortably to your face with a cushioned foam surrounding that also removes moisture from your face improving comfort and reducing fogging. Snowboarding goggles have a broad head strap that should fit snugly holding the goggles firmly to your face.

Snowboarding Jacket – Your jacket is your final protective layer against the elements and as such should be wind proof and water repellent. As with the rest of your snowboarding clothing your jacket should be breathable allowing moisture to escape.

Snowboard – Snowboarding is pretty difficult without one but make sure you get a snowboard that is suitable for your dimensions, riding style, experience and budget. Snowboards vary in terms of construction materials, camber, flex, dimensions, effective edge and sidecut so again make sure you try a number out and discuss your requirements with a snowboard supplier before taking the plunge.

Snowboard bindings – Good quality sturdy snowboard bindings are important to ensure your boots are firmly attached to your board. Available in small, medium and large sizes your bindings should be bought in combination with your boots to ensure the most secure fit.

Snowboarding Gloves – Use specifically designed snowboarding gloves with fleece insulated glove liners to protect your hands from snow, ice and impacts. They should be waterproof and have padded and reinforced palms and fingers which are both high impact areas.

When buying any snowboarding apparel ensure that it fits well to prevent chafing and to maintain the breathable nature of the fabrics. Your snowboarding clothing is there to keep you warm, safe and comfortable over long periods in the winter climate and as a result it is worth spending the time and money to ensure you get the best possible equipment.

Cotton – Understand Why It's the World's Most Popular Clothing Fabric

Introduction
Cotton is the world's most important apparel fiber, making up over 50% of the fabric sold throughout the world. This is not by accident. With a long history, it has endured because of its unique properties that make it ideal for much of the clothing we wear. It is attractive, durable, comfortable, and proven.

Physical Characteristics
Cotton is divided into various groups depending on its physical characteristics; We will focus on two of the most important, the length of the fiber and its fineness. Cotton fibers vary in length, from half an inch to 2 inches. Higher quality is associated with longer length, and achieving this is more expensive. Longer fibers make up only 3% of the worldwide output, and are reserved for high end shirt fabrics and other like uses. Shirt fabric varieties of this long fiber cotton include American Pima, Egyptian, and Sea Island Cottons. Cotton fineness (the fiber's diameter) is another quality characteristic; Immature fibers tend to be 20% thinner than mature fibers, and therefore are less strong. Very high end fabric producers seek to separate the mature from the immature fibers, ensuring high durability.

Properties

Absorbency
This is what makes cotton so comfortable in hot weather. It absorbs the moisture from your skin allowing it to evaporate by passing through the fabric, so allowing your body to regulate your temperature. This combined with the spun yarns ability to hold the fabric quickly off the skin allows greater comfort than other fabrics in hot conditions.

Heat Conduction
Heat passes freely through cotton; Combining this property along with the absorbency characteristic above, you have an unbeatable fiber for making hot weather wearing fabric. However, in cold weather, this strength is a weakness. Cotton jackets are not good a retaining the body's heat, and only if very tightly woven and pressed using special techniques will you see an improvement here.

Resiliency
Cotton does not retain its shape well. Fabrics made from cotton tend to wrinkle and do not hold their shape well. This problem can be addressed by specifically treating the fabric or blending it with a man made fiber, but you lose a bit of its other properties such as durability and heat construction by doing so.

Durability
Cotton is tough. In fact, when wet it increases in strength by 30%; Thus throwing 100% cotton shirts in the washing machine may mean a lot of ironing, but you can be sure the fabric will remain intact. It can be washed with strong detergents, and the only thing you may want to watch out for is it losing some of its color (that's the case for hand washing). Cotton molecular structure resists high heat, so ironing is a great way to get the fabric looking crisp; A quick tip though is that shirts respond best to ironing when they come immediately immediately out of the dryer a bit damp still. And to top it all off, cotton is resistant to moths!

Cotton does have some durability issues. You should use bleach sparingly, as that it weakens the cellulosic fibers of cotton. It should be stored clean and dry to protect from mildew, which digests cellulose and can cause holes if too much time elapses. Cotton is also sensitive to acids, so fruit and fruit juice stains should be treated immediately.

Environmental Impact

The Bad –
Mainstream farms use chemical pesticides and bioengineering to get the highest quality and highest yield per acre. The unintended consequences of chemical runoff and more resistant pest insects are well documented. Cotton is water intensive, and the tilling necessary can lead to soil erosion.

The Good
Cotton is a renewable resource that has successfully clothed man for centuries. In part to the Green movement, Organic Cotton has risen in importance and economic liability. Organic cotton uses no synthetic fertilizers or pesticides, and therefore leaves a smaller footprint on the environment. However, because of lower yield per acre and a lack of economies of scale in the industry, the cost to get this to the consumer often doubles the price. Another niche being filled is the re-emergence of naturally colored cottons. Cultivated for thousands of years, naturally colored cotton can be grown in red, brown, beige, and green with other colors in development.

How to Set Up Your Clothing Line Website

When starting a Clothing Line it isn’t all about designing and manufacturing your products. You need to build your brand and market as much as possible. The internet provides a great way to do this, and anyone with their own clothing line should consider setting up a website as soon as possible.

Firstly you should think about your target market. Are they experienced with using the web? Would a simple site be better? Think about all the aspects they might expect to find on the website of a clothing line, including creativity, images and so on. Think about what you can do to make these features possible and start planning your pages.

You will also need to consider how much money and time you have available for this website. If you can’t design sites yourself and can’t afford a designer, then you could choose a free blog for the time being. If you have more time on your hands then it’s best to get as much of the site up and running as possible.

You are also going to need to register your own domain name. Whilst free blogging services don’t require your own domain, it will make your clothing line look more professional if you have one. Try to get a domain that either uses your own name or the brand of your clothing line. It needs to be easy to spell and remember, so that your visitors can easily find you.

Remember, your website is your chance to show off your work. Make it easy for potential customers to contact you, and research a few ideas before settling on a final design when you first Start a Clothing Line.
